DUMB QUESTION
Does anyone tie down their rudders when trailering for a distance so they can't flop around!!!!! :?:

Have never bothered.
Driven distances up to 1600 klm and they just seem to stay straight in the slipstream.
No noticable extra wear and tear.
I guess it might depend on how well balanced your rudders are.

Air flow keeps the rudders straight .. never had a problem with the rudders --- But the Prop you can save gas if you have the least amount of prop up to catch wind --- 2 blade set straight up and down -- 3 blade have 2 tips down by the gunnel's and 1 straight up --- we gane over 1 mile per gallon of gas for the truck hauling the Airboat... That adds up fast if you put as many road miles on as we do..

I put a bungie cord around the steer stick when the boat is park on a hill around or bunch of other boats. I have replaced my rudders due to them being slammed from the side by prop blast of another boat. The bungie will absorb some shock and allow some movement but won't let the rudders slam to either side. This is effective if you leave the boat un-attended. Just gotta remember to take it off before taking off.
